Yesterday, Aliko Dangote launched the distribution of 120,000 bags of rice aimed at aiding approximately one million underprivileged individuals across Kano State's 44 local government areas. Speaking at the event held at the State Government House, Dangote disclosed that the total expenditure on food supplies for all 774 local government areas in the country amounted to N15 billion. He further explained that Kano would receive 120,000 bags, while the remaining bags would be dispersed among the 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs) nationwide. "We are here in Kano to kickstart the distribution of over one million 10kg bags of rice, targeting over one million of the most vulnerable individuals across Nigeria's 774 local government areas, at a cost exceeding N15 billion. "The allocation to Kano State is due to its large population and high poverty rate. "This initiative is our response to the prevailing economic challenges in our nation, demonstrating our commitment to supporting our communities in line with our core values. "We will commence this noble endeavor in Kano State and Lagos State starting today, recognizing the urgency in providing immediate relief to those in need. "Our objective is to expand our outreach to all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, ensuring that as many of our fellow Nigerians as possible benefit, " Dangote expressed.
