Police Arrest Suspected Fraudsters, Bandit Informants, Others in Zamfara

In Zamfara State, the Nigerian Police paraded a total of 18 suspects, which included two females. The Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Dalijan, disclosed that these individuals were apprehended by the Police Tactical Squad during distinct operations across the state. Among the suspects, nine were alleged internet fraudsters, one was an informant to bandits, and the remaining eight were suspected criminals. The Commissioner addressed the media during a press conference, shedding light on the arrests and the significant role played by Dan-Umaru Abubakar in the abduction of female students from the Federal University in Gusau last year. Regarding Abubakar\'s arrest, Commissioner Dalijan stated, \"We have been diligently investigating this case and will continue to exert our utmost efforts until all the suspects are apprehended, and the students are safely reunited with their families.\" The Commissioner also highlighted the apprehension of suspected internet fraudsters, emphasizing that credible intelligence led to their capture. The investigation revealed that these fraudsters had targeted and scammed over 2,000 individuals. During the arrests, the police seized a substantial amount of evidence, including over N2 million in cash (N2,270,000), several sim cards, and four motorcycles. In conclusion, Commissioner Dalijan emphasized the police force\'s commitment to thoroughly investigating these cases and ensuring that the perpetrators face justice. Among those recently paraded by authorities was Nafisa Sani, a suspected firearms supplier to bandits, in a startling revelation. Allegedly, Nafisa played a pivotal role in orchestrating the abduction of her own friend when the bandits faced financial difficulties and sought her assistance. The police commissioner disclosed that Nafisa had been actively involved in the supply of arms and ammunition to the bandits. In dire financial straits, the bandits turned to her, and in a distressing turn of events, she decided to offer her close friend as a kidnapping target. Furthermore, another female suspect came under scrutiny for her involvement in the abduction of a three-year-old child. The suspect reportedly demanded a ransom for the child\'s safe return. These distressing incidents underscore the depths to which certain individuals are entangled in criminal activities, even at the cost of close relationships. Authorities are tirelessly working to ensure justice for those involved and to guarantee the safety of the victims.
